Strategic / Scenario Planning

These days, the ever shifting business landscape needs to accommodate all the kinds of factors that are very fluid – social, technological, political, ecological and regulatory. Business strategy can no longer be the “5 year plan” – it needs to encapsulate a vision of a way forward that is capable of being modified at every twist and turn of events while allowing progress towards established and agreed goals.

Strategy development must embrace "what if?" investigations that explore beyond the habitual mindset. It must consider multiple futures – in other words, scenarios.

In this way, strategy ceases to be a fixed plan but rather a learning process that leads to continuous improvement in the alignment of the organisation to its environment. Scenarios are a powerful way of developing a learning organisation.

Tierney Page Kirkland have been providing services in developing Strategic Plans for almost 20 years. Our approach enables all stakeholders to have a robust, frank and open discussion in determining where an organisation wishes to be at some future time. The “scenario” approach enables them to get there.
